“A move to begin negotiations for a sludge landfill site to be located in Lewiston was voted by the Lewiston-Auburn Water Pollution Control Authority this morning. The initiative was by Lewiston Public Works Director Roger Pruneau. … The discussion centered primarily on a variance needed to allow development of the site off Cotton Road, Lewiston, and use of a leachate recovery system.”

“The Bible Bookstore & Gift Center, 945 Center St. in Auburn, is celebrating 30 years of service to the community. Bill and Lois Watt founded the store in 1970. Roy Williams and Bill Carson bought it in 1984. Williams retired about four years ago. Carson has been the sole owner since. The store serves churches, organizations and individuals with in-store and mail order sales. It deals in inspirational products as well as Bibles, books, music, church supplies, cards, gifts, videos, software and more.”
