Sidney L. Dobson

SOUTH PARIS – Sidney L. Dobson, 92, of Auburn passed away on Friday Sept. 26, 2025, at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris with his loving family by his side. He was born on Jan. 7, 1933, in Portland, son of the late Everett and Laura (Maxell) Dobson.

Sidney graduated from Falmouth High school class of 51, on July 7, 1951, he married the love of his life Carolyn (Linscott) Dobson. They were happily married for 74 years. In 1953 he joined the United States Army proudly serving his country during the Korean War.

After starting his own business in Taunton, Mass., he went to Fisher Collage to study business management. Sidney was owner of Taunton Tire and Alignment Center in Taunton and County Tire in Middleboro, Mass., and The Desert of Maine in Freeport.

Sidney and family resided in Massachusetts for 38 years. He was very active in Taunton. Past president of Chamber of Commerce, 35 years Rotarian, 35 years on the board of directors, Mechanics Cooperative Bank and was active in this church, Pilgram congregational in Taunton. In 1996 he sold his business in Mass. And the family returned to Maine.

In his spare time, he loved to play golf, work on his many stained-glass pieces and woodworking. A great deal of his spare time was spent volunteering for Habitat, his church and his community. But his happiest times were when he spent time with his loving family and friends.

He was predeceased by his loving parents, Everett and Laura Dobson, his brothers Richrd and Ronald Dobson and his sister Pamela Dobson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Carolyn Dobson, his daughter Debi Pensiero and her husband Dwight.

The family will hold a celebration of life on Oct. 23, 2025, at 11 a.m., in the Lisbon United Methodist Church 14 School St., Lisbon Falls.
