Mercy M. Hanson
NEW SHARON – Mercy M. Hanson,78, passed away on Oct. 3, 2025, peacefully in her home, following a rich and lively life. Born June 13, 1947, the daughter of Gladys E. Stinger and James L. Berkeley. Mercy was born in Brunswick, Maine, but she resided most of her life in New Sharon.
Mercy was a feisty, outspoken and fiercely independent bookworm who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was extremely skilled at knitting, sewing and loved animals such as the birds she fed and her pets.
Mercy is survived by her two sisters; two daughters; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many friends.
There will be a private memorial held to honor Mercy.
Arrangements are under the care of Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington Maine, where memories, photos and condolences may be shared at dsfuneral.com.
In lieu of flowers or gift baskets, Mercy expressed to always have preferences for donations. These can be made in her name to:
