LEWISTON — Peter Geiger, known as Mr. Halloween this time of year, is again hosting the area’s biggest trick-or-treat event tonight, featuring thousands of candy bars and even three “ginormous,” 5-pound Hersey bars.
Geiger, the vice chair of the Geiger Board of Directors and the editor of the Farmers’ Almanac, says he’s ready for tonight’s event with 10,000 king-sized candy bars, 8,500 mini candy bars that will fill a witch’s cauldron inside a hearse, the three giant 11,200-calorie Hershey bars, and 1,000 flex tickets to future Lewiston Maineiacs hockey games.
Geiger says the 5-pound bars will be given out to trick-or-treater No. 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000. “Literally more fun than is legal,” he said of the event.
As in past years, it all starts with the password, which this year is: Being Kind Is Cool.
The event is held at Geiger, 70 Mt. Hope Ave. in Lewiston.
