At last the civil war in Sudan is getting some long overdue coverage from the mass media. The Biden and Trump presidencies have both been accomplices in the lack of interest and effort to end the war. Meanwhile, thousands have been brutally killed and millions of Sudanese in Darfur (remember the starvation there a few years back) have fled as refugees.
This war needs to be stopped and the way to stop it is to cut the arms shipments from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Rapid Support Forces who are committing unimaginable war crimes on ethnic Sudanese.
It will be interesting to see how much pressure the Trump administration will put on the UAE, as the Trump family has extensive financial ties through real estate and other business ventures. We shouldn’t hold our breath.
