L.L. Bean will ring in the holiday season with its Christmas tree lighting at 6:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, in Discovery Park in Freeport. A 60-foot tree will be decorated by lighting artist Pandora LaCasse with more than 35,000 LED lights. Bowdoin College’s a cappella groups, Meddiebempsters and Miscellania, will perform. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be a harvest market plus horse and carriage rides from 1 to 7 p.m. L.L. Bean will host a coat drive for seniors along with Maine Area Agencies on Aging, collecting gently used coats for Maine’s older citizens throughout the weekend. For every coat received, L.L.Bean will donate $5 to the Keep ME Warm Campaign.
