Barbara Emily Fournier
LISBON – Barbara Emily Fournier, born on Dec. 12, 1934, in Auburn, a daughter to Ansel Freeman Jackson and Minerva Emma Arndt passed away on Dec. 19, 2025.
Barbara lived in Auburn her entire life. She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1953. She proudly played trumpet in the high school band and was fortunate to travel to Washington D.C. to play there. You could hear her trumpet sounds from high windows as parades marched down Court Street.
Barbara worked at WLAM for a few years, then began working at Geiger Bros. for the next 42 years, as a private secretary, then as a office manager. She loved her Geiger Bros. “family”.
Barbara married her true love Maurice “Moe” Fournier June 25, 1955 at St. Joseph’s Church in Lewiston. Together they raised their two daughters, Tina and Julie, and were happily married for almost 65 years until Moe’s passing in 2020.
After retirement they enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises to Hawaii, Alaska and the Caribbean. They loved traveling and doing activities with the Lewiston Seniors, and daily lunches with friends.
She was a former member of St. Patrick’s Church, then more recently the Prince of Peace Parish, attending mass at the Basilica.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at The Fortin and Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway. There will be in-house service at the same venue at 11 a.m. with a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery for committal prayers to follow.
