Merton A. Hodgkin Sr.
SOUTH PARIS – Merton A. Hodgkin, Sr., 95, of South Paris, passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025. at his home.
He was born in New Gloucester on June 3, 1930, the son of Charles and Gladys Hodgkin. He faithfully served his country in the Army from Feb. 8, 1952 until Nov. 9, 1953. Mert enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, farming and spending time with his family.
Mert is survived by his children Merton Hodgkin, Jr., Marvin Larrabee, Diane Marshall, Joann Bartlett and husband Edward, Lloyd Hodgkin and wife Eleanor, Kenneth Hodgkin and wife Mary, Norman Hodgkin and wife Julie, Donald Hodgkin, Terry Henry and husband David. Mert will be missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Luster Hodgkin. He was The Man, The Myth, The Legend and will never be forgotten.
Family and friends may attend a funeral service on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026 at 9 a.m. at Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 45 Main Street, South Paris. Spring interment will be in No. Raymond Cemetery with military honors.
