Auburn couple ‘skelebrates’ holidays with year-round haunt
Larry and Amber Lewis don’t have to worry about where to store the pair of oversized skeletons after Halloween is over. They focus on keeping them upright.
If the Nightmare Before Christmas had a sequel, this would be it. Larry Lewis, pictured on Tuesday in Auburn, and his wife, Amber, have no plans to take down their towering skeletons. Instead, they’re planning the skeletons’ next holiday decorations for Valentine’s Day. One has been up for 2 1/2 years, and the other newer addition has survived one trip around the sun. Lewis said they haven’t fallen down, thanks in part to his modifications and securing them to pallets as bases to keep the spooky statues upright. “She’s the one with the addiction to the skeletons,” Lewis said while laughing.
