AUBURN – Edwin Everett Hinshaw passed away peacefully at the age of 91, Nov. 27, 2025 at Schooner Memory Care in Auburn.
Born Aug. 16, 1934 in Winchester, Ind. He attended Earlham College where he met his wife, Dorothy Strattan, a lifelong partner, and best friend for 70 years.
He was an active member of Durham Friends Meeting believing that all persons should be examples of good will and awe; each being their own beatitude.
Ed is survived by his wife, Dorothy; brothers Merril Hinshaw (Janis), Ronald Hinshaw (Linda); children Lindley Hinshaw (Diana), Martha Hinshaw Sheldon, Jenny Hinshaw (Daniel Rhinehart), Joel Hinshaw (Rachel Rousseau); grandchildren Kyle Hinshaw (Caitlyn), Chris Sheldon, Jess Sheldon, Sean Rhinehart (Grace Montgomery), Ryan Petherbridge, Owen Petherbridge; great grandchildren Atley, Emerie, and Saylor Hinshaw.
He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Robert Sheldon.
A memorial service will be held Jan. 10, 11 a.m., at Durham Friends Meeting, 532 Quaker Meeting House Rd., Durham. Another service will be held April 18, 11 a.m., at Jericho Friends Meeting, 4010 E 100 S, Winchester Ind.
