I am constantly astounded by the shameless, spineless Republican senators as they preside over the destruction of our democracy. History will soundly condemn our Republican legislators and Donald Trump but in the meantime our people and our nation are suffering.

The latest horror is the obscene invasion of Venezuela. Yes, Maduro is vile, but that is up to their citizens or a Latin American consortium to deal with. We have no right to invade another country so that we can control its oil and Donald Trump can earn more billions. 

And now we have verbally attacked our wonderful ally, Denmark. The current president and his cohorts have no moral or ethical standards and are capable of great further harm. Only our U.S. representative, Chellie Pingree, has spoken out fiercely to condemn the invasion. 

My heart goes out to our heroic servicemen and women who were compelled to participate in such a lawless venture and to risk their lives.
