In this day and age there is no place for nations to be colonizers. All peoples and nations must be sovereign and free to determine what to do with their own natural resources.
At this point in human history, if one nation wishes to utilize another sovereign nation’s resources then they should negotiate with them, offering the dignity and respect that other nation deserves. Instead, we have the United States attacking Venezuela for its oil and other resources and threatening to annex Greenland by force, if need be, as well as repeated attempts by ousted colonial powers to assassinate Capt Ibrahim Traoré, interim President of Burkina Faso.
All of this to further wealth extraction for the benefit of the oligarch class and the corporations, with our stockholding politicians along for the ride.
