Reginald Hicks, of Carrabassett Valley, has been named to the 2026 Team NBS roster, a national development program operated by the National Brotherhood of Snowsports.

Hicks, a student at Carrabassett Valley Academy in Carrabassett Valley, was selected as part of the nonprofit organization’s 2026 team, which includes 35 athletes from across the United States representing multiple ski and snowboard disciplines.

The National Brotherhood of Snowsports is a national nonprofit representing a network of more than 60 ski and snowboard clubs serving Black and Brown athletes. The organization focuses on expanding access to training, coaching, competition and long-term development pathways in winter sports.

Team organization functions as the organization’s national athlete development program, providing selected athletes with financial support, coaching access and structured competitive tiers designed to support advancement from regional to national and international levels of competition.

Hicks was named to the B Team roster in the ski freestyle and freeski discipline. Athletes on the B Team typically compete at national events and train within the organization’s multitier development system.

The 2026 roster announcement comes during an Olympic year for the organization. Officials announced that Team NBS athlete Henri Rivers IV has qualified for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, where he will represent Jamaica.

Team NBS athletes will be recognized at the organization’s 53rd annual summit, scheduled for Feb. 28 through March 8 at Keystone Resort in Colorado. The summit serves as the primary fundraiser for the NBS Olympic Scholarship Fund, which provides need-based assistance for athlete training, travel, equipment and competition expenses.

Additional details about Hicks’ training background and local involvement were not immediately available.
