The Bored Teachers comedy tour brings its new show “Is It Friday Yet?!” to Maine for a pair of performances. Thousands of educators of many stripes have been entertained by this troupe since 2022. If you’re an educator of any kind, or just want a night out full of laughter, take a recess and grab tickets.

First Friday at the Farnsworth

First Friday at the Farnsworth offers four reasons to visit. There’s an opening reception for the exhibits “Maine: A Force Within American Art (1890-2026)” and “A Craft of Their Own: Fine Woodworking in Maine.” You can also enjoy a poetry reading celebrating Edna St. Vincent Millay. In the museum’s library, you’ll partake of wine and custom-baked Valentine’s Day cookies.

Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour

It’s the 26th year of the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival in Portland. Both nights feature different three-hour showcases of award-winning, globe-spanning short films. With breathtaking footage of climbers, skiers, runners, paddlers, mountain bikers and explorers achieving incredible feats, you’ll leave with a renewed sense of adventure.

One of the crown jewel’s of Biddeford’s WinterFest weekend is Saturday’s indoor mega event, The Big Chill. There you’ll find a crafters and makers market, and all sorts of food and drink. The event segues into an 8 p.m. dance party with ’80s tunes spun by DJ Foxy.

Spend Saturday afternoon immersed in the sounds of a family-friendly concert at Merrill Auditorium. Recomposed features the Grammy-nominated Palaver Strings performing with Portland Municipal Organist James Kennerley playing the mighty and historic Kotzschmar organ. The show will be infused with floral-inspired projections, creative lighting and stage décor designed to make the venue bloom with a sense of hopeful beauty.
