George Edgar Roy
AMHERST, NY – George Edgar Roy, 94, of Amherst, NY, passed peacefully at home on Feb. 2, 2026. He was born to Edgar J. and Marguerite (Prince) Roy on Feb. 22, 1931, in Berlin, NH.
He enjoyed ice skating, music, playing and coaching hockey, traveling, and visiting his grandchildren.
George was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving as corporal from 1952 – 1954. He then went on to study at University of New Hampshire and Northeastern University. George built a career as an engineering tech for the Maine State DOT.
George was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Madeleine Caron Roy. He is survived by his children, Pierre (Lisa) and Celeste Marie (Peter Stuhec) Roy; three grandchildren, Sophia and Louis Roy, and Samo Stuhec; as well as a sister, Beatrice Rheaume.
