People feel divided and uncertain right now, and I understand why. Lewiston deserves a representative who listens, tells the truth and serves everyone no matter who they are. I know what it’s like to work hard and worry about making ends meet, and I lead by listening first and finding real solutions — not political talking points — that help families feel supported and heard.

I’ve done this work in my service on the Lewiston City Council and the School Committee. Voters have trusted me with a third term because they know that I will always put this community first.

Name two issues critical to the district’s future. If elected, how do you plan on addressing them?

Affordability is key. Things keep getting more expensive, and our paychecks can’t keep up. I plan to deliver tax reform, funding for programs, and regulations on price gouging to help people in need get what they need: food on the table, prescriptions they can afford and keeping their homes warm without breaking the bank. I’ll also support efforts to make housing, health care and child care more affordable.

Our youth are our future, and we need a strong school system to provide the best education possible. I’ll work hard to increase funding to Lewiston’s public schools and after-school programs to keep our kids safe and supported.

What actions will you take to support business and grow the economy?

A strong economy runs on strong workers. I’ll work to support better workforce training, which will help create good-paying jobs.

Many employers also report that a lack of housing is leading to hiring challenges. We need to continue building more of all types of housing, including market rate, while also making sure programs that keep people affordably housed are funded at the appropriate levels.

What do you want voters to know about you?

I will always listen to the people I represent and do what’s right — even when it’s hard. That means protecting all of our neighbors, including immigrants, refugees and people seeking asylum and standing up for all of our rights. It means defending the right to due process under the law, protecting voting rights and working with my colleagues to make sure the federal government does not overstep its authority.

Our democracy only works when everyone is treated fairly and the rules apply to everyone. I always have and always will show up and put our community first.
