Gladys B. Foster
SOUTH PARIS – Gladys B. Foster, 85, of South Paris, passed away on Feb. 13, 2026 from a brief illness, with her family by her side.
Gladys was born on Nov. 9, 1940, in South Paris, to Lathrop and Etta Baker. She was raised in Norway and attended Norway High School and has continued to be active with the Class of 1959.
On Sept. 4, 1958, she married the love of her life, Harold Foster. They were married 67 wonderful years. Together they raised their two children, Kimberly and Jim. They enjoyed camping trips to Bar Harbor, and she was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader. She was a homemaker, Mom, childcare provider and also worked at Sampson’s grocery store for many years.
In her young years, she loved tap dancing. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, cooking, crocheting, watching and feeding the birds and playing the marble/card game.
She hosted many parties and gatherings at her home, was part of the Red Hatter’s society, Paris Cape Historical Society, and volunteered at the election polls up until last year.
She loved her family and adored her grand and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Harold; her children Kimberly Hilden and Jim Foster and his wife, Robin; grandchildren, Travis Hilden and his wife, Cherith and boys Ridley and Lawson; Tarsha Hilden and her partner, Ben and boys Callen and Hudson; Jamie-Lynn Foster and Season, Kevin Foster and Alexis; and their bonus great-granddaughter, Madilyn Blaquiere.
At Gladys’ request, there will be no funeral services.
