Irene Adams
LEWISTON – Irene Adams passed away peacefully after a long illness on Feb. 17, 2026.
Irene was born in Lewiston, the daughter of Louis and Theresa Tancrel and attended Auburn schools.
Irene was the proud mother of three children, Terry Bradbury of Anderson, S.C., John Barry of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lisa Alessi of Turner, and grandmother of three boys, Chase Boven, Cole Laliberte and Wade Boven whom she loved with her whole heart.
In 1988 she married Ronald Adams and together they enjoyed many years renovating old houses that they then sold. Their last home they renovated together was on Bear Pond in Hartford, which they lived in and enjoyed for many years.
Over the years Irene worked in the food industry, however she was most proud to have owned and operated Appletree Antiques in Auburn and Livermore.
Irene was an excellent cook and wonderful hostess and enjoyed gatherings with her friends and family. She was also very talented making quilted items and rug hooking pieces. Some of her work made it into craft magazines and won multiple awards over the years. The best part of these projects was coming together with her amazing friends to work on them together. She made wonderful friendships during these times that she treasured to the end.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters and two sons-in-law, one son and daughter in-law; three grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law; as well as two stepchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Irene was predeceased by her parents; and brother Jerry Tancrel.
Irene will be remembered for her good nature, willingness to help others and her strong friendships as well as the love she always showed to those around her. She will be greatly missed by many.
Celebration of life on April 25, 2026, in Turner, Maine.
