Dance to Amanda Tubbs and Lady Gaga in Lewiston
LEWISTON — Amanda Tubbs & Band take the stage at the Franco Center on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. for the “Lady Gaga: Just Dance” tribute concert.
Doors and a cash bar open at 6 p.m. Maine’s own Julia Gagnon, who takes the stage name Julia Haven, will also perform as special guest.

Hear how Scott and April Shanaman saved Auburn’s Lost Valley

LEWISTON — On Thursday, Feb. 26, at noon, Lost Valley owner Scott Shanaman will speak at the Great Falls Forum about his family’s purchase 10 years ago of the Auburn ski area, its revival and his plans for the future.
Ten years ago, Lost Valley was $1.6 million in debt and on the brink of closing. The first year under the Shanamans’ ownership, the number of skier visits was around 28,000. Last year the number was 67,000, a record for Lost Valley.
Shanaman will talk about the history of the beloved ski area, the challenges his family faced when they decided to take it over, the plans they have for the future and more.
This free, public program will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in Callahan Hall at Lewiston Public Library, 200 Lisbon St. at the corner of Pine Street. The program is a bring-your-own, brown-bag lunch event. Coffee and bottled water will be available at the library.
The program will also be livestreamed via Zoom. Reservations are only required if attending via Zoom. The Zoom link will be posted to the library website and Facebook prior to the event.

Attend an author’s reading at UMF
FARMINGTON — The University of Maine at Farmington will present essayist, journalist and storyteller Onnesha Roychoudhuri as the first reader of the 2026 spring semester’s Visiting Writers series Thursday, Feb. 26.
Roychoudhuri’s book, “The Marginalized Majority: Claiming Our Power in a Post-Truth America,” was a 2018 Kirkus best book of the year and has been praised by The San Francisco Book Review, The Rumpus, and Book Riot among others.
Roychoudhuri will read from her work at 7:30 p.m. in the Landing in the UMF Olsen Student Center. The reading is free and open to the public.
Roychoudhuri is the 2013 fellow at the Center for Fiction and her writing has appeared in Rolling Stone, Kenyon Review, n+1, and The Boston Review. She is a 2011 and 2012 Pushcart Prize nominee, and has been awarded residencies at Hedgebrook and Blue Mountain Center.

Come hear Graham Ganter in Gardiner
GARDINER — Johnson Hall’s Homegrown series will present Graham Ganter on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 7:30-9 p.m.
The series is a new offering that features local artists. Ganter is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Portland. His style is varied, with influences coming from country, jazz and folk. His lyrics are often gritty and personal, and WMPG writes that he stands out on stage with his “soulful voice and masterful guitar work.”
Ganter will be complemented by Mike Berkowitz on bass.

Join a discussion in Lewiston on raising bilingual children
LEWISTON — The Franco-American Collection at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston campus, 51 Westminster St., is hosting an informal discussion about raising children who speak both French and English.

Listen to concert pianist Yumi Suehiro at Bates College
LEWISTON — On Saturday, Feb. 28, from 7:30-9 p.m. Olin Arts Center Concerts will present concert pianist Yumi Suehiro in a program titled “Northern Lights and French Dispatch: Works by Barbara Kolb (in memoriam).”
Suehiro will also play works by Danish composers and former/current Bates composition faculty.
The concert will take place at Bates College’s Olin Arts Center, 75 Russell St.
