Forrest Flagg

FAYETTE – Forrest Flagg, 71, of Fayette, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 26, 2026, at Central Maine Medical Center, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. He was born on Aug. 26, 1954, in Farmington, to Earle and Claire Flagg, who predeceased him.

He graduated from Livermore Falls High School, class of 1972, served in the U.S. Navy, and married his high school sweetheart, Diane Chicoine, in 1973. Together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and the outdoors. Forrest worked in the paper industry and retired from SAPPI in Skowhegan. He found his greatest joy in outdoors hunting, raising beef cattle, attending his sons and grandsons sporting events, watching old westerns, feeding the birds at his birdfeeders, spending time at David Pond, and especially time at his camp in Lang Town.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Flagg of 52 years; his son, Jim Flagg (Sarah) of Livermore, his son, Keith Flagg (Chelsea) of Fayette; grandsons Darren, Colby, and Mark Flagg; sisters Lucy Vogel and Rhonda Bryant; and best friend, uncle Hersey Wilkins.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Alec Estrella and Nurse Kim in the Critical Care Unit for providing such kindness and compassion to Forrest and his family.

At Forrest’s request, there will be no funeral service. A private burial will be held in the spring.
