James Howard Carville

LISBON FALLS – James Howard Carville, 63, passed away at his home on Feb. 9, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Lisbon Falls.

Jim was born on Nov. 29, 1963. Jim attended Lisbon schools, where he enjoyed playing football and playing practical jokes. He loved making people laugh.

In 1981, Jim married Debbie, his high school sweetheart, and bought his grandfather’s farm. He enlisted in the Army National Guard that same year as a mechanic.

He purchased his first portable band sawmill in 1984. Over the next 42 years, Jim would go on to cut over three million board feet of lumber.

Jim will always be remembered for his incredible work ethic. He loved working alone in the woods, cutting trees and observing the forest. His knowledge of nature was very deep.

Throughout his son’s boxing career, Jim achieved many levels of coaching success with gyms in Lewiston and Portland.

Jim had a deep love for horses. He loved haying with his grandsons and doing tree work with his son.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Twadelle, her husband Todd, her children Carter and Avery; his son, James W. Carville, his sons Everett and Emery; sisters Maureen, Donna, Trudy, Suanne and Becky; several nieces and nephews.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Leona Carville; a brother, Kenneth Carville; and a grandson, Willy Carville.

A Celebration of Life will be held later in the spring.
