In this time of unbelievable chaos, Americans are dying because they can’t afford insurance, masked thugs are breaking into cars and homes without just cause or warrants, cost of living increases are killing working families’ budgets, Mainers can’t afford rent, the homeless population is growing out of control, global warming is an afterthought, and our democracy and constitutional rights are disappearing.
But not to worry! While these concerns escalate, Sen. Susan Collins is leading the cause for clean water here in Maine. Collins must be aware we have a competent governor and mayors who can handle issues like drinking water.
Her job is to represent Mainers in Washington, D.C. Her job is to stand against all of the above, to protect our democracy and our freedom. Didn’t she promise that in the last election?
Collins needs to know that we are not fools. Time after time, we’ve watched her disappoint us. The only time she stands against her party is when they already have enough votes to pass whatever it is they’re voting for. Any other time, even if she knows it’s wrong, the senator gives the president her vote.
Sen. Collins sits on her hands while Donald Trump destroys our country and our democracy. If she had more dignity, Collins would refuse to serve this corrupt administration and remember her oath. A vote for Collins, or any Republican, is a vote for Trump.
