Auburn teens race to perfect plays for festival debut

Members of the Edward Little Drama Club are set to compete in the MPA Regional Drama Festival at Skowhegan Area High School in Skowhegan. The two-day competition starts Friday, with the students from Auburn performing Saturday.
The 20 student actors and support personnel, under the direction of EL teacher Renee Davis, plan to present their play “Do Overs.” The club will compete against several other local teams, including Lewiston, Spruce Mountain, from Jay, and Leavitt, from Turner.
Over 70 teams will present plays this weekend in regional competitions planned at high schools in Brewer, Camden Hills, Ellsworth, Fairfield, North Berwick, Skowhegan, South Portland and Yarmouth. The state finals are planned for March 20 and 21 at Windham High School.
