Harold T. Damon
SOUTH PARIS – Harold Truman Damon, 84, beloved husband of Billie Lou Pechnik Damon for over 60 years, passed away at Maine Medical Center on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 due to multiple pre-existing medical conditions following a fall on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Harold was born to Reta Porter Damon and Roger Damon on Nov. 3, 1941 in Andover. He attended schools in Norway and Paris, graduating from Paris High School in 1960. During the mid 1960’s, he served in the US Army as a surveyor for the placement of missiles in Germany’s Black Forest after the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Upon being honorably discharged, he married Billie Lou and apprenticed as a precision machinist at Maine Machine Products, working there for 25-plus years and later as a machinist at Kingfield Wood Products and CF Wells in Buckfield.
Harold kept his loyalties close to home. He was a loving, kind, strong but gentle, giving husband, father and grandfather. His preferences for the simple blessings in life offered included designing and building his own family’s home on Nichol Street in South Paris, participating in and watching his children’s and grandchildren’s events, long slow drives on back roads with Billie, gardening, picking berries, feeding the birds, having a large group of deer really close to him- within touching distance while feeding them, all things Christmas, the aroma of coffee, molasses cookies, and other everyday blessings.
Loving survivors dear to him are his wife, Billie Lou; daughter, Darcy Sekerak and son-in-law, Phil Sekerak; son, Joe Damon and significant other, Jo-Ellen Strout; granddaughter, Alison Sekerak Bliss-Pryor and husband, Alec; grandson, Matthew Sekerak and wife, Emily; sister-in-law, Christina Andrews; nephew, Rob Robbins; nieces, Tami Andrews, Sara Spugnardi and family.
There will be a funeral service at 1 p.m., on Saturday, March 21, 2026, with a reception to follow at Chandler Funeral Home, 45 Main St., South Paris. Online condolences may be shared with his family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to those with food insecurities, payable to Good Shepherd Food Bank, P.O. Box 1807, Auburn, ME 04210.
