I just saw on television that the 99 percent protesters are going to cause problems on Black Friday. For the life of me, I don’t understand why people still follow that group.

Supposedly, they are going to make it hard for us middle-class and unemployed to do what little shopping we can do this Christmas. Oops, I am not supposed to use that word, either.

In my mind those protesters just lost what little (and I say “little”) respect I had for them. Some of the protesters had good gripes, but they have it aimed at the wrong people.

At this time, you do not want to stop commerce when it is so much in demand these days. If anything, you want to help people spend what little money they have on this economy, anything that will help it along.

It goes this way: When people spend money on a product, the company has to produce more of that product, so it hires more people to produce more product.

See how that goes?

Anyway, the protesters should focus on the real problem this country has, and that is Congress itself (also, the White House; we can’t leave that part of the problem out of the picture, can we?).
