Arlene B. Witherell

AUBURN – Arlene B. Witherell, 86, of Greene, passed away, Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Clover Manor in Auburn, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1939, in Greene, the daughter of Laurien and Verna (Ray) Brule. She was a 1958 graduate of Sabattus High School. On July 5, 1958, in Sabattus, she married Jordan Witherell of Sabattus. They enjoyed 61 years together before his passing on Dec. 7, 2019.

In her earlier years, Arlene worked as a waitress, then became a pharmacy technician and worked at Scott Pharmacy and Hannaford Pharmacy. She was also the caretaker for her mother and her sister with special needs.

Arlene was a member of the Eastern Star Lakeside Chapter 60. She had a passion for camping with her husband and was an avid Red Sox fan. Most of all, she cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, frequently attending their various sporting events.

She is survived by her son, Gary Witherell and wife Doris, her daughters Deborah Witherell Brewer and husband James Brewer, Lori Witherell Russell and husband Edwin “EJ” Russell; grandchildren, Brent Witherell and wife Alaina, Bryan Witherell, Jessica Brewer, Candice Brewer and Olivia Duguay and husband Brendan Duguay; great-grandchildren Kayle, Avelina, and Cade Witherell, Nicole Duguay, Noah Pelletier, Mason Donoghue, Mia Donoghue and Aiden, Keagan and Irelyn Brewer; great-great-grandson, Kash Donoghue; her brother, Raymond Brule, brothers-in-law Isaac Eugene Witherell, Jr. and wife Vea and James Witherell and wife Nancy; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Jordan; sister, Barbara Brule and brother, Bertrand Brule; mother-in-law, Frances Edwards; sister-in-law, Sally Witherell and brother-in-law, Franklyn Witherell.
