Lawrence “Pete” Bouchard
AUBURN – Lawrence “Pete” Bouchard, 90, a resident of Auburn, formerly of Lewiston, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at Andwell Hospice House in Auburn. He was born on Jan. 24, 1936, in Caribou, the son of Albert Sr. and Phoebe Bouchard.
He was a 1955 graduate of Lewiston High School. On May 5, 1962, at St. Peter’s Church in Lewiston, he married his wife of 63 years, Estelle Cote. Pete started his carpentry career with Bellegarde Construction and later became owner and operator of Pete’s Construction. He proudly built their family home in Lewiston, which consisted of six additions and an in-law apartment to accommodate for a growing family.
Pete was a member of St. Philip Church in Auburn, where he and Estelle served as a marriage encounter team, Eucharistic Ministers, Church Fair Volunteers. Pete was active in the Boy Scouts when his son was growing and also a member. They also began the local chapter of PFLAG. Pete was a lifelong diehard Patriots fan, skier, and was always physically active.
He is survived by his wife, Estelle Bouchard of Auburn; his children, Andre Daniel Bouchard Fernandez (Oscar) of Washington, D.C., Louise Bouchard of Lisbon, Joline Moon (Rob) of Lewiston, and Suzanne Mann (Chuck) of Andover; seven grandchildren, Kirstie Acker, Meaghan Harrington (TJ), Lyndsy Caron, Sean Caron, Saydi Duchart (James), Phoebe Voisine (Matt), and Owen Voisine (Haylee); 10 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Robert Bouchard of Chelmsford, Mass. and Albert Jr. Bouchard of Guilford, NH.
A funeral Mass will held 11 a.m., on Thursday, March 19 at St. Philip Church, 2365 Turner Road, Auburn, Maine. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 217 Switzerland Avenue, Lewiston, Maine will be held at a later date.
