RUMFORD – It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our mother, Noella C. Taylor, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday March 19, 2026, at the Rumford Community Home. She is now with her Savior.

Noella was born Dec. 25, 1931, to Joseph and Angelina (Bolduc) Cayer. She grew up in Rumford on Waldo Street and attended local schools until graduating from Stephens High School in 1950. Shortly thereafter, she was married to the late Leo W. Taylor for 30 years until his passing in 1987. They settled in Rumford, Berlin, N.H., and raised nine children.

Although she was a housewife for most of her life. She was employed for five years at Oxford Paper Company until her marriage. Later when her children had grown, she worked at the What Not Shop for many years and also was a housekeeper for Dr. Kirn. She was a member of the Snowshoe Club, St. Timothy Circle #504, Daughters of Isabella, and a communicant of the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church. She was also an active bowler in her younger years in the Oxford Lanes Women’s League.

Noella leaves behind her daughter Diana and Mike Ronan of Roxbury, her sons Richard Taylor and Elaine of Jay, James Taylor of Dixfield, John and Terry Taylor of Turner, Marc Taylor of Rumford, and Glenn and Tracy Taylor of Whitefield; as well as 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Leo; daughter, Linda, sons Robert and Thomas; her brothers Lucien, Ernest, Robert, Paul, and Fernand; granddaughter, Lauren; nephew, Fernand; and her companion and partner, Emile Barre.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday March 27, at the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford. Interment in the spring will be in St John Cemetery.
