AUBURN — Ballet LA from the Dance Center plans to present an adaptation of “Cinderella” Friday and Saturday at Donald M. Gay Performing Arts Center at Edward Little High School, 77 Harris St.
About 100 parents, friends and others were present during the first half of their dress rehearsal Wednesday night.
The cast includes young dancers, aspiring dancers and professional dancers.
The performance is based on the age-old story of “Cinderella,” set in the fictional city of Isle Town, an anagram of Lewiston. While there are many props on stage, original paintings by local artist Tracey Twitchell Pray were projected on a giant screen in the background. All the costumes were handmade by Lana Hall, Alia Stock and Tess Gregory. Props were made by local artisans.
The choreography and adaptation was created by Ballet LA Artistic Director and senior company dancer Amelia Pullen, who also performs.
Performances will be presented Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 and 7 p.m. at the high school.
