I’m an Army veteran who strongly supports Governor Janet Mills to be Maine’s next U.S. senator.
I’m appalled by President Trump and the damage he’s done to our nation. He has repeatedly shown little regard for the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law. To restore our constitutional democracy, Democrats must win majorities in both houses of Congress. That will require replacing Republican Sen. Susan Collins.
Collins has defeated her last five Democrat opponents. While she may be perceived as being weaker this time, that was also the perception last time. The only candidate who can defeat Collins is Janet Mills. Mills has proven she can win statewide, having done so twice in the past eight years. She’s clearly the candidate Collins and the National Republican Senate Committee fear the most.
Regarding toughness, no one is tougher than Mills. She’s committed to restoring our constitutional democracy and fighting hard to improve the lives of ordinary people. Mills will hit the ground running in the U.S. Senate and will not slow down.
I disagree with those who say Democrats need a more youthful candidate. What Democrats need is a candidate who can win a statewide general election. Mills can and will. Plus, she can run circles around others, regardless of their age. Mills has unlimited energy, a brilliant mind and is prepared to fight like hell to take back our country from Trump and his sycophants.
Please join me in supporting Janet Mills for the U.S. Senate.
