Watch a play go very wrong in Bath
BATH — Dramatica Art and Stage Company will present “The Play That Goes Wrong” at the Chocolate Church Arts Center for a two weekend run starting Friday, April 3.
Called a “catastrophically hilarious comedy,” the production will take the audience to the opening night of the Cornley Drama Society’s newest production “and absolutely nothing is going according to plan,” according to advance publicity for the show.
“In this award‑winning farce by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, a classic 1920s murder mystery unravels into pure comedic chaos as every prop misbehaves, every line goes off‑script, and the set itself becomes the biggest threat of all.”
The show includes actors who can’t act, a corpse that won’t stay dead, and a mystery that’s impossible to solve “when the show is literally falling apart around them.”
The show runs through Sunday, April 12. For more information and tickets, go to chocolatechurcharts.org. Tickets are $23.
The center is at 804 Washington St.
Write your own theater script at Lewiston’s Franco Center
LEWISTON — On Friday, April 3, the Franco Center will present The Thread Theater 2.0 “Believe it or not” for an interactive, fast-paced audience-driven night of live theater.
Hosted by Dan Kane, Thread Theater invites community members to write a script, perform in a show, or simply sit back and enjoy the fun, according to organizers.
The audience is encouraged to actively respond to each short play, letting the cast know exactly how they’re doing — making every performance unpredictable and uniquely entertaining. “Write a script, act in a show, or just come to watch the fun,” Kane said. “Bring your friends, have a drink, and wish for spring.”
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with a cash bar available. The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10, cash only at the door.
Performances often include adult themes and may not be appropriate for minors. Minors attending should be accompanied by a responsible adult or have permission to attend.
