AUBURN — Dozens of children raced around the field Wednesday picking up eggs during the annual Easter Egg Hunt & BBQ behind the new PAL Center on Valerie Circle.

The plastic eggs contained candy or a slip of paper indicating they could choose a prize from a variety of items in the gym.

Soccer balls, basketballs, flip-flops, games, toys and other items were offered by the Auburn Police Department, Auburn Exchange Club and Auburn Recreation Department.

Members of the Auburn Exchange Club, police department, city staff, volunteers and PAL staff cooked burgers, hot dogs and handed out beverages and other treats inside the newly constructed facility on Valerie Circle.

Auburn Police Department staff members and officers talked with the children and helped with the activities.
