We had a number of people write in who recognized the cupola at the top of Academy Hill School at 585 Depot St. in Wilton. Several of them went to the school, including our winner, who was selected in a random drawing of all the correct entries. Helen Hader of Weld said she graduated from the school in 1965. In 1980, the school had a devastating fire. The original cupola was replaced and its new weathervane was made of 95 pounds of copper, bronze and stainless steel, with a 40-inch wingspan on the eagle. “It was so awful when it burned. We came from Wilton to watch and cry with friends and classmates,” Hader said when she was notified she was the Mystery Photo winner. She will receive a $25 Hannaford Supermarket gift card.
