I am a lifelong Mainer and I can no longer remain silent about what the Trump administration and his cadre of idiots and sycophants are doing to my country. I write this letter as a call to my fellow Mainers to not give in and give up hope.
We may be assailed each day by new injustices and deeds done in the name of America that we cannot tolerate (i.e., the Iran war), but this is a democracy and the ultimate power lies with us — the voters. Trump and his gang of Republican allies know this and are afraid. Why else would they be fighting so hard to take away or limit our ability to vote? They know a reckoning is coming and they are doing anything they can to prevent it. Do not let them!
Fight for your right to vote. This is the basic right of our society and we must preserve it. Do not back down and do not become complacent. We need to remain vigilant until the midterm elections arrive and sound the alarm (when needed) to thwart any new sneaky tactics they may attempt. Most of all we need to vote! So do your part for our society this November and stand up for America.
