An irreverent evening
Dustin Tucker portrays Crumpet, one of Santa’s little helpers during the holiday rush at Macy’s in David Sedaris’ holiday show for grown-ups, “Santaland Diaries,” at Portland Stage’s Studio Theater. Crumpet copes with thousands of shoppers and their kiddies with whacked out, wicked wit. A Grammy Ward-nominated humorist, writer, comedian and radio contributor, Sedaris’ essays appear regularly in Esquire, GQ and The New Yorker. Much of his humor is autobiographical and self-deprecating. The show opened Nov. 25 and runs through Dec. 18 at the theater at 25A Forest Ave., Portland.
