Seldom is the hackneyed phrase “fake news” brought to our attention now by this president. This was, of course, his vocal reflex when he got hot and bothered by the media’s negative reports of him during his first term.
In his second stint, Trump has effectively joined the newsroom by creating oodles of stuff to report upon, some significant, some zany — or both.
With this ceaseless outpouring generated by Trump, I can’t help but think that he is devising a schedule, of sorts, of topics to feed the press, in drip-drop style, for the upcoming days, weeks and perhaps months.
If his efforts are to make us feel distracted, confused and anxious, they are the one, and only, way that he can be considered a marvel. Let the impact of that work be short-lived because his endeavors, big or small, are truly sinister.
