LEWISTON — Faux Net Tricks, a new, locally owned company, is one of 36 national winners and one of three in the New England region of the American Express and Google “My Business Story” contest.

The contest was in conjunction with the effort to encourage the public to shop and contribute toward local economies by shopping at local small businesses. The video that won the company its award included how the business got started, what it offers customers that is unique in both product and customer service, and how it supports the community.

Faux Net Tricks will receive a digital media plan funded by American Express and fulfilled by Google, as well as a cash award.

Faux Net Tricks was created in July by three Lewiston natives and sells T-shirts with clever word combinations that, when pronounced correctly, offer a second message. The owners are longtime friends Judi Pulkkinen Keene, Sara Marsh and Lisa Plourde Novicki. Some products offered by the company reflect support for cancer patients and survivors, while others are simply fun to wear.
