Billy J. Dumont

GREENE – Billy J. Dumont, 60, of Greene, Maine, passed away in the early morning hours on March 30, 2026, at Andwell Hospice House in Auburn Maine, from a courageous battle with cancer.

Billy was born Feb. 25, 1966, in Lewiston, the son of Joseph N. and Hannelore (Walter) Dumont. He was a graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn. Billy served in the Maine Army National Guard and retired at the rank of Specialist.

He was an extremely talented musician and he had a singing voice that was unique and beautiful all it’s own. He played guitar in the band Fore Front for many years until the band broke up. He was often asked to play at family gatherings. He also wrote many of his own songs, including one he wrote about his mom, that is still listened to today by friends and family.

He had an extensive guitar collection that most would marvel at today. His other musical talent was playing the harmonica which he would incorporate in his songs.

He had a way of making people laugh and was extremely funny. He made everyone smile.

He went to work for Hall and Knight in Lewiston then Eastern Fire and then Woodex Bearing in Georgetown, Maine. The last eight years he worked for TD Bank serving as Tech Specialist III. His job with TD Bank was his most enjoyable one.

Throughout his journey with cancer, Billy had such a positive attitude and he never lost his sense of humor up until the very end. He knew he was going to a better place and he had great faith in the Lord.

Billy’s greatest passion though was spending time with his twin boys, Jordan and Haydn. He enjoyed target shooting with them, going out to eat and just spending time talking on the phone.

Billy had a humble disposition and got along with everyone. He was enjoyable to be around. He was also there for anyone who needed a helping hand.
