Despite my elder age, I believe we need the voices and ideas of our younger voters to deal with our country’s, and the world’s, problems of political radicalization and climate disaster. If we dutifully reelect the usual suspects, Donald Trump will secure the votes of our two, yes two, younger voting generations.
Trump sees himself as king and dictator, not as anyone’s partner. He will snag voters by selecting a middle-aged, perhaps female, running mate who he will isolate in obscurity the day after election. We must face reality and take action before we commit the fool’s error of sticking with tried-and-true. The younger voters, both generations, deserve to take control and apply our government’s resources to the problems and solutions they intimately understand.
I urge my age mates to step aside from today’s candidate lists. Let’s vote our consciences, and face up to our world’s real problems of climate change, overpopulation and militarization.
