Cindy-Lee Rideout
SOUTH HARPSWELL – Cindy-Lee Rideout, 73, passed away on April 18, 2026, at CMMC following a brief illness resulting from an accidental fall.
Born on Feb. 17, 1953, Cindy was the beloved youngest daughter of Mildred (Furbush) and Alan Rideout. She grew up in Greene, Maine, but her heart and soul were always tied to camp in Harpswell. It was there she spent much of her life, finding joy in the simple beauty of the ocean, walking the beach looking for sea glass, out in the boat with family and friends, or laughing and making memories with her “Edgewater Colony crew,” who became part of her family.
Cindy dedicated many years of her life to education, working as an English teacher at Minot Consolidated Schools. She had a passion for language and learning, and she made a lasting impact on her students before retiring from Minot schools.
She is survived by her only child, Casey-Lee and husband Mike from Harpswell; her seven cherished grandchildren, Three, Aaron, Dominic, Brayden, Camden, Landen, and Spencer; and her three great-granddaughters Ella, Charlotte, and Finley. Cindy had two sisters, Susan and Barbara. Cindy’s whole identity was her family. Cammie loved her grandchildren so much and they were her world.
She was predeceased by her parents, Alan and Mildred Rideout; her grandparents, Virgil and Elisabeth Rideout and Roy and Mildred Foster Furbush; her cousin, Linda Stevens; and many aunts and uncles.
Cindy will be remembered for her love of the ocean, her thrifty spirit, her dedication to teaching, and the deep bonds she formed with those around her. Her giving heart and stubbornness were what made Cindy, Cindy. Her presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
