Let’s start with the basics. Sometimes a party is just for a good time.

I’ve had a theory about overthinking life. It starts with academic’s needing to write a thesis to graduate, and finding ways to prove it.

Thinking a spring ski party is more than a bunch of college kids or feeling-young-again types getting together, might think again. Trying to make a racial statement out of it is a bit off (“Sugarloaf might want to rethink Reggae Fest,” April 6).

Other festivals have tried “Jimmy Buffet” at the sister mountain. Their spring party didn’t last as long, mostly due to the weather. They had good weather, but never enough year in/out. There are many ski resorts that have late-season parties with various themes. If people are looking for an event that fits their style, just check around.

A point was made about a lot of smoking in the area, but if the columnist had ever been, she would have seen more than enough alcohol being consumed. My question is: when was the last time anyone heard of people lining up to go to a ukulele festival? It hasn’t made waves since beach music became a thing.

I don’t know any of the band members personally, but my guess is that they enjoy the opportunity to play at an annual event that brings them exposure and a good payday.

Finally, if people can’t go to the islands or south for spring break, someone is likely putting it in a backyard near them!
