Richard Marcel Blais

MEADVIEW, Ariz. – Richard Marcel Blais, 93, of Meadview, Ariz., passed away on April 20, 2026 in Kingman, Ariz.

He was born July 29, 1932 in Lewiston, Maine. He was the fourth of 10 children born to Louis and Rose Blais.

In his professional life, Richard worked 34-plus years at Rockwell International in Downey, Calif. During that time, he served as an engineering liaison on both the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs.

During his free time, he loved woodworking. Making birdhouses was his passion. He was a generous and kind man who loved to laugh. He was always there to help family, friends and complete strangers, though he was never one to ask for any help himself.

He was a proud Catholic whose motto was “always help the poor.” He volunteered at St Vincent de Paul in both Kingman and Dolan Springs, Ariz. He donated countless hours and handmade goods to charity.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Pauline (Labbay) Blais.

He is survived by his son, Jan Blais (Kingman, Ariz.), his daughter, Dawn (Dunham) and son-in-law, Mark Dunham (Meadview, Ariz.), and his daughter, Cindy (Imperio) and son-in-law, Marvin Imperio (Durham, N.H.); along with several grandkids; and great-grandkids.
