Maine’s motto is Dirigo: I lead.
I am a grandmother calling on all Mainers to rise up and lead in shining a light on elected state and national officials in our country by asking them to answer this question honestly and factually: Are they for sale?
To stay in office, will our elected officials give their allegiance, foremost, to those they think can and will secure their position — without deepest consideration of what that may require them to walk away from? Can they remain morally committed to the constituents they were elected to represent?
A common expectation for those elected to serve is that they will walk in the shoes of those their positions have them representing — and then work and act with commitment and constancy for all of them.
Are they for sale?
