AUBURN — Irene V. Longtin, 63, passed away peacefully at Hospice House on Nov. 29.
She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 8, 1948, to parents Lucien and Beatrice Longtin. She was a resident of Pinecrest Apartments in Sabattus for 12 years and Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center in Lewiston for the past month.
She was educated in the Holy Family Catholic school system for eight years and then the Lewiston school system until her graduation in 1966. She enjoyed gardening and grew many beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed crocheting and cooking. Irene was known for her many “baked from scratch” breads, brownies, cakes and cookies. She was also an avid reader.
The love of her life for the past 12 years was her red tiger cat, Beau. He has been by her side providing unconditional love and amusement during her final days.
She was a dedicated mother to twin daughters Karen Ann and Jessica Julia. They were the light of her life. She is the proud grandmother of four granddaughters.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Fox and husband, Patrick, of Saco and Dr. Jessica House and husband, Aaron, of Lincoln; four granddaughters, Abigail and Rachael Fox and Hannah and Ashley House; sisters, Diane Longtin of Lewiston, Claire Bailey and her husband, Michael, of Poland and Janet Perron and her husband, Dana, of Turner; brothers, Joseph
Longtin and his wife, Monique, of Fayette, Lucien Longtin and his wife, Delores, of Litchfield and Paul Longtin and his wife, Karen, of Litchfield; 13 nieces and nephews and their spouses; and 15 great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Lucien and Beatrice Longtin; one brother, Maurice Longtin; and two nephews, Marc Longtin and Matthew Perron.
