LEWISTON — A funeral Mass honoring the life of Nancy A. Denis was celebrated on Tuesday at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish, following prayers at the Pinette and Lynch Funeral Home. The Rev. Nathan March celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. At the beginning of the Mass, Nancy’s husband, Guy Denis and her children, Tina Lepple and Chad Denis draped her casket with the burial pall that commemorates her baptism into new life. During the Mass, the first reading was read by her sister-in-law, Denise Denis and the prayer of the faithful was read by her cousin, Janet Theriault. The offertory was brought to the altar by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lee and Paul Boudreau. At the end of the Mass, words of remembrance were expressed by her daughter-in-law, Katrina Denis, her son-in-law Jay, Lepple, her close friend, Cindy Tripp and her sister-in-law, Diane Dennett. Bearers were her godson, Nicholas Langlais, her son-in-law, Jay Lepple, her cousins, Eddie Jalbert and Todd Gagne, her nephew, Ben Boudreau and her brother-in-law, Mike Denis.
