BIDDEFORD — Irene D. Roux, 93, died at Southern Maine Medical Center on Sunday, Dec. 4, after a brief illness. Formerly of Lewiston, Irene moved to Saco to live with her daughter two years ago.
She was born in Lewiston, Oct. 9, 1918, the daughter of Wilfrid and Yvonne Giguere Dulac. She married Roland O. Roux on Oct. 29, 1938. Mr. Roux passed away on Oct. 26, 1985. She was employed at Raytheon, Dori and worked as a bookkeeper for Roland O. Roux Agency before retiring.
A member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by a daughter, Carmen Parks of Saco; one daughter-in-law, Pauline Hamel Roux of Saco; five grandchildren, Scott E. Parks and his wife, Susan, of Goodyear, Ariz., David J. Parks and his wife, Jennifer, of Saco, Denis R. Roux and his wife, Kate, of Rye, N.Y., Michael R. Roux of Waterboro and Kimberly Roux Blake of Saco; nine great-grandchildren, Joshua Parks, Kaylee Blake, Jeremiah Blake, Nicholas Parks, Benjamin Parks, Annabel Roux, Bethan Roux, Josephine Roux and Aaron Roux; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; brothers, Wilfrid Jr. and Henri Dulac; two sisters, Rita B. Dulac and Marie Louise Belanger; and two sons, Romeo Roux in 1963 and Roland A. Roux in 2006.
