WATERVILLE — Florence Marie Arsenault, 77, of Evergreen Drive in Waterville, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
Florence was born in Chisholm on Nov. 8, 1934, the daughter of the late Armance and George Demers. Florence attended schools in Jay and graduated in the Class of 1953.
Florence enjoyed spending her time cooking for family and friends, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, knitting and bird-watching. She will be greatly missed for her fun and positive attitude.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Vicki Johnson, and husband, Don of Oakland; sons, Clay McLafferty and wife, Sherry of Turner and Dale McLafferty and wife, Debbie of Buckfield; her grandchildren, whom she greatly loved, Chris Johnson and wife, Julie, LoriAnn Canavin and husband, TC, Brianna McLafferty, Dalton McLafferty, Joseph McLafferty, Tasha Langiler and husband Dave, and Amber Smith; five great-grandchildren, Drew and Grace Johnson, Cooper Canavin, and Jayden and Davin Langiler; a brother, Arthur Demers, and wife, Ina; a sister, Annette Demers; and a very special Aunt, Jeannie Richard.
Florence was predeceased by her first husband, George McLafferty, who passed in 1983; her second husband, Joseph Arsenault, who passed in 2007; brothers, Willie, Armand and Leo Demers; and two sisters, Beatrice Binnett and Rita Ferland.
Florence wanted to especially thank Michelle of HealthReach HomeCare and Hospice, Debbie of Care & Comfort, Dr. Kristen Holm, Dr. Roland Kanausenberger and the staff of Mount Saint Joseph (Friendship Harbor) for their thoughtful care and kindness during the last phase of her life.
