AUBURN — Auburn/Lewiston YMCA Biddy Basketball results:
Junior Division
Platz Associates 33, Gee & Bee Sporting Goods 26: Platz extended a two-point halftime lead with an 11-6 third quarter to defeat Gee&Bee in the Saturday morning opener. Ben English led the winners with 12 points. Emmy Lashua and Abdul Mohamed added eight each. Julia Master and David Oken chipped in with two and one, respectively. Nathan Farnsworth, Teagan Galway and Joel Stubbs led the way on the defensive end for the winners.
Caleb Yarnevich tossed in a team high 12 points to lead Gee & Bee. Ryan Therriault (six), Giles Paradie (four), Christian Beliveau (two) and Selina Gauthier (two) rounded out the scoring. Kathryn Childs, Jonah Crowell, Cameron Winslow and Shane Gauthier were tough on the boards for Gee & Bee.
Downeast Financial 36, Hoop Camp 33: Downeast Financial entered the fourth quarter down one point but rallied to top Hoop Camp in a well -played game between two evenly matched squads. Hank Duval continued his torrid shooting with a game high 20 points. Grant Hartley also finished in double figures with 12 of his own. Nick Davis and Jayson Taylor added a bucket each to round out the scoring. Grace Beaudet ran the offense from the point and Sofia Hartley, Katelyn Jipson, Kirsten Main and Sarah Sterling anchored the defense for the victors.
Jahlen Coney was a beast for Hoop Camp with a team-high 18. Piper Norcross ran the offense and added 6 points. Other scorers were: Brian Demers (three), Jahvon Coney (two), Camden Poisson (two), and Richard Thurston (two). Taylor Depot, Spencer Morrill and Ryan Salk added hustle and grit to mix.
Leary & DeTroy 49, American Concrete 31: It was an embarrassment of riches, with every member of the team finding the scoresheet as Leary & DeTroy won another, this time over American Concrete. Silky-smooth Ethan Brown led the offense with a game-high 18. Lauren Jutras controlled the paint and followed with 12. Khadar Heeban (eight), Austin Brown (four), Ethan Bosse (four), Chantel Ouelette (two) and Khalid Heeban (one) completed the scoring.
American was led by big man Patrick Luizzo’s 10 points. Tyler Morin ran the point and added nine points. Mohamed Mohamed dumped in six and Otis Caron, Grace Fontaine and Hunter McQuade added two each. Keegan Pelletier, Nick Hartley and Courtney Richard worked hard on both ends of the floor.
Emerson Toyota 37, Pat’s Pizza 31: Emerson took a seven-point lead into halftime and held on to win over a stubborn Pat’s team. It was a true team effort for Emerson with eight players scoring points. Kyle Herald led the way with a game-high 11 points. Jacob Kyajohnian was next with seven. Other scorers were Storm Jipson (five), Jaden Legare (four), Bobby Tremaine (four), Madison Thistlewaite (two), Alex Thompson (two) and a big late bucket by Rosalie White. Olivia DuBois shook off an injury and added toughness on the defensive end.
Devaunte Rembert and Tyler Libby each had 10 points to lead Pat’s. Tyler Swanbeck added five to go along with his defense. Oceanna Chamberlain, Josh Hamel and Dan Nalley each contributed a bucket to round out the scoring. Julia Milks, Jade Perry and Josh Kaiser led the way on defense
Pee Wee Division
C.B. Bachmann 24, Hammond Lumber 17: Bachmann used a balanced scoring attack to overcome a sluggish start and break open a tie game at the half in a win over Hammond Lumber. Dominick Jacob and Tyler Jalbert were the leading scorers for the winners with six points each. Hannah Chaput, Mike Chaput and Dylan Sellinger added four points each to complete the scoring. Caroline White, Austin Sellinger and Jack Hart played stifling defense to bolster the winning effort.
Max Creaser led all scorers with 15 points and Tyson Green chipped in the other two for Hammond. Michelle Cowie, Brady Cox, Quincy Coachman, Liam Flynn, Cameron Langis Aiden Hebert and Rylen Schenk were key defensive supporters.
Hahnel Bros. 34, Anthoine Financial Group 18: Hahnel used a 22-7 second half advantage to pull away from a game Anthoine squad. Ben Sirois, Steven Parshall and Jacob Jackson led the offense with 12, 10 and eight points respectively. Luke Josephson added four and Tristin Blossom ywo to fill out the scoresheet. Cody Saunders, Matt Metivier, Declan Giroux and Trevor Bosse contributed on both ends of the floor to supplement the winners.
Nick Gagne poured in a team-high 11 for Anthoine. Lindsay Adams added three and Jordan Cummings and Braden Paradie two each to complete the scoring. The defense was led by Marshal Adams, Olivia Ouelette, Anson Perry, Ella Perry and Meaza Paradie.
Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli 27, Morrison & Sylvester 23: It was a seesaw affair as Heidi’s outlasted M&S in a Peewee battle. Ryan Marston torched the nets for a season-high 12 points. Ben Poland and Emily Piper each added four points. Other scorers included: Caroline Hammond (three), Tyler Smith (two) and Connor Leclerc (two). Cameron Irish, Dylan Bilodeau and Landon Cougle were defensive stalwarts for the winners.
Ethan Chute had a game-high 14 points and Joey Vallee added eight for M&S. Alex Thistlewaite’s free throw accounted for the other point. Calvin Ames, Finnegan Thistle, Cooper Watkins, Addison Dostie and Simon Hayes provided hustle and grit.
Sam’s Italian Sandwich Shoppe 21, M&P Used Auto Parts 16: Sam’s held M&P scoreless in the fourth quarter and that proved to be the difference in the win. Dan Milks had nine points to lead the way offensively. Hunter Young and Nick Kaiser each kicked in four. Anna LeBlanc and Ray Nichols chipped in with two apiece to complete the scoring for the winners. Kora Martel, Matt Scholer, Madisyn Turcotte and Ben Webber set the tone defensively.
Aaron Galway, Corey Wiers and John Shea had four points each for M&P. Justin Bulmer and Harrison Gray each added a bucket to round out the scoring. Joey Shea, Shane Kilby and Josh Murphy added toughness and defense.
Austin Associates 26, Sun Journal 22: Elizabeth Marcotte led the way with 10 points as Austin outlasted SJ in a nail biter. Chase Martin and Caleb Davis each added four points for the winners. Julia Berube, Lydia Celani, Jason Brooker and Owen Hamel closed out the scoring with two points each. Libby Forgues and Zachery Jawer were key defensive stoppers.
Devonte Scott tallied a team-high 10 points to lead SJ. Andrea Demers was next with six. Jamaine Luizzo (four) and Cayden Childs (two) were the remaining point getters. Emily Kramarz, Elijah Demers, Wyatt Morse and Noah Peck worked hard on both ends of the floor.
