FARMINGTON —  The community is welcome to gather at any of several Christmas Eve services being held tonight.

The traditional community service, sponsored by Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry, takes place at 11 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church on the Farmington Falls Road.

Other holiday services on Saturday, Christmas Eve, and Sunday, Christmas Day, include:

* Farmington, Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, Academy Street, a traditional candlelight service at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve with Christmas carols, readings of the story of the birth of Jesus and candle lighting. An offering will benefit the Franklin County Ecumenical Heating Fund.

The theme of Pastor Susan Crane’s Sunday, Christmas Day, service starting at 10:30 a.m. is “Grace Happens.”

* Industry, Shorey Chapel, 1109 Industry Road, Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. An offering will also benefit the local heating fund.

On Sunday, worship at Shorey Chapel begins at 10 a.m.

* New Vineyard, Mountain View Bible Church, Church Street, candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m.

* Wilton, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, High Street, annual Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. includes Holy Communion and Christmas carols and features a chancel drama by local actor Michael Cooper. Early arrival is recommended as the service is usually well attended.

St. Luke’s, Sunday, Christmas Day, service begins at 9:30 a.m.
