SCARBOROUGH — Michael “Scott” D. Dick, 60, of 92 Morris Ave., Lewiston, died Saturday, Dec. 24, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House following a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston, April 24, 1951, the son of Donald and Gladys Gibson Dick. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1969. He was employed in the area shoe industry, and for many years was the plant manager at Bottoms USA, a urethane sole manufacturer. He also owned and operated a machine shop at his former home in Auburn called “The Job Shop.”

A former member of the United Baptist Church, he also belonged to the Webber Avenue Club, the Eagles Club, and was very active in the Elks Club, where for many years he headed their children’s cancer fundraising efforts, and also ran the Dick Gibson Golf Scholarship Fund.

He was always very athletic, lettered in football and baseball in high school, and was a terrific golfer, competing in many amateur tournaments. This love of sports led to his involvement in the Lewiston Fly Football League, where he served as president, coach, and even ran the snack shack.

He is survived by his mother, Gladys Dick of Lewiston; a daughter, Jennifer Bolduc of Auburn; a sister, Cindy Gibson-Draper and husband, Michael Draper, of Falmouth; two grandchildren, Tyler Babb and Alexis Bolduc; his beloved cat, Silver; many close aunts, uncles and cousins, whom he was very close to and was usually responsible for gathering the family for outings and holidays.

He loved having family and friends over at Crystal Lake in Gray for cookouts, boating and waterskiing on his boat, and snowmobiling and pond hockey in the winter.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald N. Dick.
